About us...

The Temple Chayai Shalom Sisterhood was formed in 2003 with the goal of promoting a warm, welcoming social environment for adult female members of the congregation. Through its growth and development, Sisterhood has been successful in expanding the goals to include both educational programs and general fundraising. Membership is diverse with many new members with young families as well as congregants who have belonged to TCS for many years. It is a great place to meet new people and greet old friends.
Here is a sample of the diverse activities that Sisterhood members can experience throughout the year:
Fall: • Plant Sale • Mini Challah Giveaway • Break Fast • Scavenger Hunt • Soup in the Sukkah • Book Swap • Paid Up Dinner
Winter: Latke Nosh Rosh Chodesh • Foodie Event • Bingo Purim Baskets
Spring: • Chocolate Seder • Walking Tour • H.S. Senior Scholarship • Sisterhood Shabbat Service

Sisterhood is also very involved in the life of the temple community as well as its extended community. They provide Shiva meals to those with a loss in their immediate family and at the conclusion of Yom Kippur services provide a massive Break Fast for the congregation. Sisterhood also celebrates TCS's children annually with B'nai Mitzvah & Confirmation Gifts, enhancing their future religious and spiritual lives.
The first year a woman belongs to the congregation, membership is free in Sisterhood. There is also an active Life Membership group. Contact us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to find out more!

Can I just buy the gift cards at the store? How does it work? UnitedScrip purchases gift cards on behalf of religious organizations, schools and other non-profit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, local vendors, department stores, and restaurants. Because the scrip is purchased in large volume, in cash, participating retailers offer a substantial discount. TCS buys the scrip from UnitedScrip at a discount and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value. Sisterhood’s revenue is the discount. You save time and energy and the temple profits.
